Sinovision's news about Stone's first Solo show "Gong Xi Fa Cai " which took place in New York in 2014
New York based China-born artist Stone 石村 (aka Chun Shi, Schutze) uses the word Shi-Cun-Kuai，meaning “Shi Cun Cube” in Chinese, to describe his innovative method of oil painting. This method uses premixed oil colors to create thousands of small three-dimensional cubes on canvas to portrait icons, such as the Chinese and US currency, Marilyn Monroe, Buddha, Peking opera masks, and the cross. Stone’s paintings, with their sculpting brushstrokes, and exuberant color patterns, give the impression of abstract art from up close and figurative art from a distance. Interested in creating a perfect balance between pop art and fine art, Stone conveys a sense of complexity and exquisity.
A TV commericial featuring New York artist Stone as the spokesman of "New New Mankind" aired on Taiwan Central Television Network in 1994.
Stone on "Hello New Yorker" show aired in 2017 on Sinovision, the leading Chinese Television Networks in North America.
